Micael Jackson's Tour Costume Revealed
Here is a picture revealing the costume designs for legend singer/performer/philanthropist Michael Jackson. This would have been Michael's final tour and now the costume images are here for us to see.
The wardrobe featured reworked versions of some of Michael's most iconic looks. Designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush helped recreate Michael's looks. His a signature crystal glove and socks, updated military looks, jewelled belts and a brand new Billie Jean suit which holds 7.5 lbs. of Swarovski crystals and 60 lights.... Wow... They also made a fiber optic red leather jacket for his Thriller performance.
Geesh, this is so sad we will never get to see him perform his last tour. MJ will always be remember for this creative and innovative style.

DID YOU KNOW: Michael Jackson's Transformation
So of course I'm devastated by the death of the King of Pop (as many of us are). I wont use this opportunity to highlight his life accomplishments. However, DID YOU KNOW...
There was an extreme amount of thought put into his 21st century come back (look). Many of his fashion staples -- military epaulets, single sequined gloves -- beat it from his wardrobe.
Actually, according to stylist hired for Jackson photo shoots, Sony insisted that fashion consultants sign a contract agreeing not to outfit the star in his old style relics.
Song writer and producer Rodney Jerkins insisted that the socks and gloves were canceled. Stylist Tameka Foster (Lauryn Hill, Toni Braxton, etc.) suggested a more subtle vibe. "He's always been larger than life. He needs to be a bit more regular.'' HERE'S THE KICKER... she suggested Cornrows and clothing that's ''halfway between hip hop and haute couture.''...no no no...CORNROWS??!! ...So glad Michael didn't go there.
Essentially Michael went from this...
to this...(Remember these photos from Ebony)

I think Phillip Bloch did a fantastic job with the transformation images. The transformation was necessary but the sparkles were coming back. I hear Swarovski had signed on to sparkle the costumes for Jackson's comeback tour beginning next month in London...it would have been a fashion extravaganza for the entire world to see.
RIP Michael, we'll miss you but you'll FOREVER live on in music, fashion, and entertainment.

What do you think? Go grab a glass of Viognier, (pronounced vee-oh-NAY) and lets discuss in the comments section. FYI -Viognier is not the sweetest but its normally very floral and loaded with tropical fruit flavors. Its a great match with spicy Asian dishes but will also go very well with crab, lobster, seafood in general, pork, ham and pasta as well as creamy or buttery sauces. It's frequently a good alternative to Chardonnay.

The stylist in you
Stylist are the visual solution to media and publications. Usually, we work for designers/manufacturers, individuals, photographers, magazines, etc. It is important that stylist know their clients so they that they are able to select the most appropriate look or 'style' (duh..) for their client.

Does this make you want to go to McDonalds? You'll never find a McDonalds ad with McDonald's logo thrown all over the place- like that disaster.
This... (deep breath) is a McDonald's shoot that was obviously styled by an amazing stylist-still working on a profile. This ad makes Mickey Ds look great! (I'm about to go in the kitchen and make my rendition of a sundae now :)
Food stylist are major! Crumbs are strategically placed, height is added with toothpicks, etc. Lisa Homa is a fabulous food stylist. Check out her site.
